Tim Stretton was a Principal Textual Editor on the VIE and was at various
times responsible for administering both Textual Integrity and
Proofreading. He was part from the project's management from its inception
in 1999 until its conclusion and wrote the essay in Volume 44 outlining the
history of the VIE.
Tim is a graduate of English and American Literature from the University of
Kent, where he specialised in Shakespeare, the Nineteenth-Century Novel and
American Literature in the 1920s. He is the author of two novels, both
heavily influenced by Vance, and more detail on his work can be found at
